The Super Brush is ideal for shading and blending while the Medium Broad allows for large coverage and various marks.

Widest color chart

Copic Sketch covers our full spectrum of 358 colors. The caps feature color codes for easy navigation and to help plan the perfect blends and color schemes.

Refillable with Copic Ink

Copic markers are designed to last, when the ink runs low you can easily refill with Copic Ink, available in all 358 colors.

1

Mix the inks in an empty Copic Ink bottle and create your customized color. Each marking on the vessel equals 1ml.

2

Insert the Copic Ink nozzle straight into the ink vessel until there is no gap between them.
* Please note that once fitted, it will be difficult to remove the nozzle so do this carefully.

3

Remove the caps on both sides of the empty marker. Pull out the Broad nib and insert the Copic Ink nozzle until it reaches the padding of the main body. Fill with ink.
* The recommended amount of ink is about 3 ml for a Sketch empty marker.

4

Reinsert the Broad nib into the orifice and leave it for a while. When the ink stains the nib you will know your customized Copic Sketch is ready to use.

  • Q.What is the difference between Copic Ciao, Sketch and Classic?

    A.

There are 3 types of Copic markers*: Ciao, Sketch and Classic. All our markers are made in Japan and evaluated against the highest quality standards, they are all refillable with Copic Ink and feature replaceable premium quality nibs. What differs is the overall design, colors available, the type of nib used and the amount of ink in the markers. Copic Sketch and Classic are compatible with the Copic Air Brush System. Feel free to choose the type most suitable to your creative needs. Copic Sketch: our global bestseller with an oval ergonomic design and color coded caps, comes with the flexible super brush nib and a medium broad nib. Available in 358 colors and is the preferred choice among many creative professionals in design, illustration and Manga. Copic Ciao: an introductory marker with a more accessible price point. It has a simpler design and a lower quantity of ink. Features the same nibs as Sketch and is available in 180 colors. Copic Classic: the original model created in 1987 with an iconic square design and color coded caps, features a broad nib and a fine nib. Available in 214 colors and used mainly in architecture, design and graphic illustrations. *Copic Wide is only available as an empty marker which you can fill with your choice of Copic Ink.

  • Q.How do I read the codes on the caps?

    A.

Copic has its own color system based on which we assign the names of the markers. The letters represent a rough hue (dominant color family, e.g. R stands for 'red', B for 'blue' and 'E' for earth colors). The first digit expresses the saturation of the color - the closer the digit is to 0, the more transparent it is. On the other hand, digits closer to 9 mean that the color is rather dull or muddy. The final digits represent brightness with 000 being the brightest and 9 being the darkest.

  • Q.Which colors should I start with?

    A.

We recommend starting with some lighter shades since Copic colors are versatile, by applying the color in layers, the ink will intensify and become darker. We suggest that you choose around 10 colors based on what you plan to draw. If you can’t purchase individual Copic markers in your market then please refer to the page on this website where we introduce our readily curated sets in many formats.

Copic Doodle Pack - 4 Pen Set - Turquoise

I bought these to test...

February 15, 2019

Verified Purchase

I bought these to test out Copics for the first time. I've always been held back by the price tag. This is a really lovely set to introduce yourself to Copic's markers.

I've used Prismacolor markers for about 10 years, and the differences between them and Copics are subtle, but marked.

The thing about Copics is that the chisel and brush nibs on these Ciaos are smaller than Prismacolor, but INCREDIBLY juicy. The pigment soaks so easily into the paper, it's almost like watercolor. I love the brush nib--it's firmer and easier to control than Prismacolor, and blending feels like silk on skin.

Layering is so smooth and easy to achieve. It does take a few coats to create a decent amount of contrast. I love that these markers allow for such delicate, broad amount of shades, even with just the two markers in this pack.

The mint green is on the light side for my taste, but nonetheless a beautiful color, especially paired with the cool shadow.

I think my favorite things of the whole pack are the liners. I've used the Copic SP multiliners for years now, and these liners are nearly weightless in your hand. The grey is exactly what I've been looking for, to make pencil sketches permanent and smudge-free. The atyou Spica pen is so glittery and bright, it puts my Sakura star pens to shame. At just the right angle, it's like looking at a glittering quartz geode. I would advise using this one sparingly to avoid all that glitz and glamour taking over your artwork.

Trying out this doodle pack has allayed any reservations I've had about getting Copics. I look forward to getting more and fully experiencing them as a medium.
